Compounding
What is Compounding?
Compounding is the Art & Science of Creating Personalised Medications
Compounded medications are prepared based on a practitioner’s prescription in which individual ingredients are mixed together in the exact strength and dosage form required by the patient. This method allows the compounding pharmacist to work with the patient and the prescriber to customise a medication to meet the patient’s specific needs.
Compounded medications are intended for patients requiring, unique dosages, drug combinations, delivery regimes or medications not commercially available.
